From the first bite, you’re enveloped by the complex spices and textures expertly balanced in their menu highlights. Delve into the creamy, tender layers of the Lamb Rogan Josh or savor the comforting depth of the Chicken Tikka Masala, where succulent chicken is simmered in a luscious tomato-based sauce with hints of garam masala and fragrant fenugreek. The vegetarian options also shine brilliantly, especially the Palak Paneer, featuring velvety spinach sauce mingling with soft, grilled paneer cubes, or the crispy, steamy Veg Samosa that provide a perfect contrast of crunch and spice.
One cannot miss the Chana Masala Combo, a classic dish where spiced chickpeas are thickly coated in a tangy tomato gravy—comfort food elevated to an art form. Complementing these hearty mains are delicate sides such as Raita De Boondi, which refreshes the palate, and fluffy Naan Nature or Tandoori Roti, ideal for scooping up every savory morsel. For fans of street food-style indulgence, the Paneer Tikka Roll wraps grilled marinated paneer and fresh veggies inside soft flatbread, with a kick of mint sauce that invigorates each bite.
Beverage offerings are thoughtfully curated, featuring a fine selection of wines, including the elegant Pinot Noir Baron Philippe de Rothschild and the crisp Chenin Blanc Boschendal, ideal accompaniments to spice-forward dishes that awaken the senses.
What truly elevates Tru India is not just its menu but the genuine hospitality and ambience that make every visit memorable. Great Experience! A truly pocket-friendly restaurant with very reasonable prices on both starters and main courses. Portions are generous and SO FILLING you get full plates that leave you more than satisfied. We tried the chicken tikka and paneer tikka rolls (wraps) both were packed with flavour and perfectly cooked filled with house sauces and fresh veggies! Unbelievable how filling it was The rose lassi and mango lassi were refreshing and authentic. Special mention to the garlic naan, honestly the best in Montreal! Can’t believe the quality and taste at these prices. Very Budget friendly for everyone !! Highly recommend!
Simply spectacular! The food is delicious and authentic, and the service is outstanding. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Highly recommended!
wow just wow. we looked for a last minute indian restaurant (i was craving a butter chicken) let me tell you my expectations have been blown out of the water. that first bite with the cheese naan really made my dopamine go off. reaaaally recommend to anyone and i will come back (every week possibly) they ate and we left no crumbs
Such a cute little family restaurant!! Cozy and nice place. Food was so tasty, korma chicken was yumyum. We got to try their new pistachio desert off the menu, so excited to order it again once it’s an official item.
The most authentic Indian food I’ve had in Montreal in the past 2.5 years! Absolutely amazing, every dish bursts with flavor and feels like a taste of home. Some items I simply can’t get enough of, the rich and creamy butter chicken, the perfectly spiced malai soya chaap, the fresh and tangy dahi puri, and the classic gol gappe that hit just right. The paneer lababdar and paneer tikka are full of depth and cooked to perfection, and don’t even get me started on the cheese naan, soft, cheesy, and incredibly satisfying. Pair it all with a refreshing salted lassi, and it’s truly a complete experience. It’s absolutely worth every penny. A must-try spot, and I’m sure once you visit, you’ll find yourself coming back again and again!
Excellent traditional and authentic food with the right amount of spices and heat. We loved the rogan josh lamb and chicken tikka was the highlight! Would definitely recommend 10/10
The exceptional new thing was the ability to choose between 1 of 3 main ingredients with each dish. So I ordered Butter Shrimp instead of Chicken.
Good food! Good service :) The butter naan could be better. But so colorful. Paneer was delicious.
